Stringer wins Champ player gong
Sheffield Eagles prop Mitchell Stringer has be named the Kingstone Press Championship player of the year.
The veteran forward, whose association with Sheffield began a decade ago, won the award from fellow nominees Paul Cooke (Doncaster) and Aaron Brown (Dewsbury).
Tony Miller, who left his post at Doncaster at the end of the season, was named Championship coach of the year at the annual awards dinner in Leeds, where Ryan Brierley (Leigh) was voted young player of the year.
North Wales Crusaders' highly successful season was recognised with Jonno Smith named Championship One player of the year and Clive Griffiths coach of the year. The Wrexham side were also named Championship One club of the year after they won both the title and the Northern Rail Cup.
