Reported Manchester United target Kevin Strootman will not leave PSV Eindhoven in January but the midfielder could be on the move next summer.
AC Milan are also interested in the £15million-rated 22-year-old but Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be leading the chase for the Holland international.
United are thought to want a strong presence in central midfield and Strootman could prove a solution, although his agent has ruled out the possibility of a winter transfer.
Representative Chiel Dekker told calciomercato.com when asked about the possibility of Strootman leaving PSV in January: "Absolutely not. There is absolutely no truth in that.
"We are only in October. The only thing I can tell you is to call me back in April or May."
He added: "We all know that in football everything is possible. But at the moment it is useless to talk about the market."
