Super League quartet charged

Four Super League stars including Brent Webb and Ben Westwood have been charged with offences committed in the weekend games.

Warrington Wolves forward Westwood and Webb of Catalan Dragons will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday.

Warrington beat Catalan 24-16 on Friday in an ill-tempered clash with both sides ending the game with 12 men.

Webb was twice sinbinned, while England's Westwood was sent off the field for throwing a punch at Webb in a mass brawl in the 72nd minute at the Halliwell Jones.

Catalan half-back Leon Pryce has been charged with a Grade A, striking with the leg offence which occurred in the 19th minute of the same game. Warrington coach Tony Smith described the incident involving Great Britain stand-off Pryce as "horrible".

Bradford Bulls prop Nick Scruton has been charged with committing a Grade B, striking with the shoulder offence on Castleford Tigers half-back Gareth O'Brien at the start of Saturday's game at the Provident Stadium.

Bradford won the encounter 38-12 and Scruton is charged with a reckless challenge and has until 1100 on Tuesday to submit an 'early guilty plea' and accept a one-match ban.

Formal cautions were also issued to Gil Dudson (Wigan) and Scott Grix (Huddersfield).

The RFL Match Review Panel also deemed the sin-binning was sufficient punishment for Michael Witt of London Broncos following a dissent offence in the second half of their game against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
