Surrey forced into final day

Rain and bad light put pay to Surrey completing a successful run chase as their clash with Gloucestershire will go into the final day.

After Chris Tremlett had ripped through the Glamorgan order on day two, the hosts had set about their 267-run target on Monday evening with opening pair Rory Burns and Graeme Smith unbeaten at the close on 41.

Following rain delays Smith (39 not out) and Burns (seven not out) faced less than two overs before play resumed at 5pm.

Even then only seven balls were bowled before the rain returned, meaning Surrey will go into the last day needing 220 runs to seal their maiden victory of the season.
