Kevin Pietersen has been left out of the Surrey squad for Wednesday's County Championship Division One clash with Middlesex.
Pietersen was dropped by England ahead of this week's third Test with South Africa.
ECB chief Hugh Morris said Pietersen had been dropped for failing to publically reveal the contents of text messages he sent to Proteas players which were allegedly derogatory about England players.
He was therefore available to play for Surrey, but he has not been named by coach Chris Adams in a 14-man squad for the game at The Oval.
Adams made no comment about the omission of Pietersen.
