Ottmar Hitzfeld has been charged with misconduct after apparently making an offensive gesture to the referee in Switzerland's draw with Norway.
Swiss boss Hitzfeld was pictured raising his middle finger - seemingly towards Spanish referee David Fernandez Borbalan - during Friday night's World Cup qualifier.
FIFA's disciplinary committee has announced they have opened disciplinary proceedings against former Bayern Munich boss Hitzfeld and he has 10 days to respond.
