Tank ready to fire

Philip Fenton is looking forward to giving The Tullow Tank the opportunity to register a second Grade One success over Christmas.

The Barry Connell-owned five-year-old is on target for the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown on December 27 after winning the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse two weeks ago.

"He's come out of it very well and we're looking forward to Leopardstown, all going well," Fenton told At The Races.

"I know he needs to improve and we think he has, so we're very happy with him.

"It's been dry for so long we'd be happy to see the rain and at last it has arrived."

The County Tipperary trainer also specified comeback races for Dunguib and Last Instalment, who have endured a long time on the sidelines.

"Both horses will return some time in January. The Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas will be Dunguib's target (on January 18) and maybe a couple of days before the Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles for Last Instalment," said Fenton.

"We're taking it nice and easy and gradually upping the work. We're happy with both horses and so far they are both sound."
