Taylor inspires Wolves triumph
Zaire Taylor led the way as the Worcester Wolves captured their maiden BBL Play-Off title by beating the Newcastle Eagles 90-78 in the final.
The Eagles were looking to complete the double after winning the league championship although the Wolves, who finished third in the regular season, walked away with their second bit of silverware this season with an accomplished performance.
The BBL Trophy winners had Taylor to thank as the league's Most Valuable Player poured in 30 points and added nine assists and six rebounds.
A third-quarter burst put the Wolves 72-52 ahead which proved too much to overcome for the Eagles, who managed to claw back the deficit to single figures before Taylor ended their fightback.
Darius Defoe contributed 22 points for the Eagles, but it proved to be in vain.
