Taylor leaves Rovers for Dons

Tranmere defender Ash Taylor has agreed to join Aberdeen after turning down the offer of a new contract at Prenton Park.

The 23-year-old heads north having made more than 200 appearances for the League One club.

And Rovers, who unveiled Rob Edwards as their new manager on Tuesday, announced that they will not be receiving any compensation.

"Despite being offered a new contract by Tranmere, as Ash has moved across the border to a club in Scotland we will not receive any compensation," it read.

"We wish him the best of luck at his new club."

Aberdeen also announced the signing of Cheltenham goalkeeper Scott Brown on Wednesday afternoon.
