Taylor left out by New Zealand
Ross Taylor has been left out of the New Zealand side for Friday's second Test against India in Wellington.
Taylor's wife is due to give birth to their second child during the Test and has remained at home in Hamilton, with the uncapped Tom Latham replacing him.
The other change from the first Test sees all-rounder James Neesham drafted in at the expense of leg-spinner Ish Sodhi.
The Black Caps will take five seamers into the match as they look to wrap up the series after winning the first Test by 40 runs. Kane Williamson will act as the spin option.
"With this wicket the best method of attack against this Indian side is to roll out another seamer so Jimmy Neesham comes in for Ish Sodhi," said captain Brendon McCullum.
"Neesham's batting is a bit of a bonus but he comes into the frame for his ability to bowl it pretty heavy as well."
Latham will bat at number four for New Zealand with Neesham coming in at number eight.
Troubled star Jesse Ryder was initially named as cover for Taylor but was dropped from the squad after admitting to being out drinking just hours before the first Test started.
The India team will not be named until the toss on Friday morning.
New Zealand: Peter Fulton, Hamish Rutherford, Kane Williamson, Trent Latham, Brendon McCullum, Corey Anderson, B.J Watling, James Neesham, Neil Wagner, Tim Southee, Trent Boult.
