Teenager Ward set for Leeds bow

Leeds are set to give a debut to 18-year-old hooker Robbie Ward against Hull in Friday's First Utility Super League match at Headingley.

Rhinos coach Brian McDermott has operated without a specialist hooker since Rob Burrow broke his collarbone a month ago, but has turned to Ward after he impressed in the club's Under 19s team, for whom he has scored six tries in 10 appearances so far this season.

With Burrow sidelined for up to three months and the club's other senior specialist hooker Paul Aiton out with a mystery illness, McDermott has used skipper Kevin Sinfield and second rower Chris Clarkson in the dummy-half role for the last three matches.

Leeds will be without veteran prop Jamie Peacock, who suffered a leg injury in their 18-14 defeat by Wigan at the Magic Weekend, but centre Kallum Watkins returns after missing that match through illness and winger Tom Briscoe is recalled against his old club.
