Thai ace will join Almeria

Thailand international striker Teerasil Dangda will sign for La Liga's Almeria in the summer on a one-year loan deal.

The Muangthong United striker will officially link up with his new team on July 1 and Almeria have the option of making the move permanent should he impress during his 12-month stint.

"I am very happy and would like to thank all concerned par ties for their support for me to play in Spain," Teerasil told the Bangkok Post.

"I hope this will lead to other Thai players getting chances to play in Europe. I think I will not have problems playing in Spain."

Almeria sports director Alberto Benito is confident the 25-year-old, who has scored 29 goals in 60 appearances for his country, will succeed in La Liga.

"Many people may ask if Teerasil is good enough to play for Almeria or not, and I think he is. We have watched tapes of him playing and his style suits the La Liga. He can play in every attacking position," he said.

Teerasil had an unsuccessful trial with Atletico Madrid last year and spent one season at Manchester City during former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's time as club owner several years ago.
