Thompson wings in at Edinburgh
US Eagles winger Brett Thompson has signed a 12-month deal with Edinburgh.
The 23-year-old represented the US at Under-18s and Under-20s levels before switching to American Football.
He was defensive end for the Arizona Wildcats for two seasons before returning to rugby union on the Sevens circuit.
He went on to make his full international debut against Canada in June, with Thompson scoring a try in the victory.
He will now look to take his chance at Edinburgh, especially win Tom Brown out until October through injury and Tim Visser and Dougie Fife likely to be unavailable through international commitments.
Thompson, whose dad Salty was capped by America, said: "I can't wait to get started with Edinburgh Rugby.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play at the top level. I'm ready to work hard and compete to help the team be successful in any way I can."
