Three and easy for Juventus

Juventus cruised into the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia as Sebastian Giovinco pulled the strings in a 3-0 home victory over Avellino.

The diminutive forward scored a fine goal on the turn after eight minutes before feeding Martin Caceres for Juve's second 10 minutes later.

Serie B side Avellino's fate was effectively sealed just before the break as Fabio Quagliarella headed home a Giovinco cross.

The second half did not produce a fourth goal, but a half-full Juventus Stadium was treated to the sight of injury-plagued midfielder Simone Pepe returning to action for the Bianconeri for the first time in a year.

The Italian champions will next face either Roma or Sampdoria, who meet on January 9, in the last eight.
