Three-week ban for Briggs
London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs has been suspended for three weeks for punching Harlequins wing Sam Smith.
Briggs will be free to play for the Exiles again on January 30.
The former Sale star was reported by independent citing officer John Byett for punching Smith during last Sunday's Aviva Premiership game at the Kassam Stadium.
Briggs however will not miss any Aviva Premiership matches.
He will be sidelined for the Exiles' Amlin Challenge Cup fixtures against Cavalieri and Stade Francais, plus their LV= Cup appointment with Harlequins.
The case was heard by a three-man RFU panel under the chairmanship of Jeremy Summers at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday night.
