Tigers v Red Devils: Teams

Castleford will welcome back leading try-scorer Justin Carney for their Super League clash with Salford at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle on Saturday.

Carney missed the defeat to St Helens last time out through illness but is back in Daryl Powell's 19-man squad for the visit of the Red Devils.

Powell could also give a debut to veteran prop Garreth Carvell, who has joined the Tigers from Hull FC. The 33-year-old former England international will be playing for his fourth club in the last eight months.

But the major storyline ahead of the clash is Rangi Chase's return to Castleford, the half-back making his first appearance at his former home since his move to Salford at the end of last season.

Chase played a key role when the Red Devils took a 23-16 win over Castleford at the AJ Bell Stadium in March and Powell knows his team must do a better job of containing him this time.

"Obviously we've got to deal with him. He's a good player, there is no question about that. He was here for a number of years and played exceptionally well,\" Powell said.

"Ultimately, it's about us winning the game and to do that we've got to put him under pressure and not allow him to dictate.

"When he dictates, he's very difficult to manage. We certainly have to deal with him better than we did last time. We pretty much gave Rangi everything he needed when we played them at Salford.

"I think our two worst performances were Salford and St Helens away. We made over 20 errors in both of those games which is double our average."

Salford could hand debuts to two players after coach Iestyn Harris included new centre signings Mason Caton-Brown and Josh Griffin, a former Castleford player, in his 19-man squad.

The Red Devils are languishing in 12th position after winning just two of their 10 matches under Harris and could come under threat of relegation should Bradford's bid to overturn their points deficit be successful.

Castleford squad: Dixon, Shenton, Webster, Carney, Dorn, Sneyd, Lynch, Milner, Huby, Millington, Hauraki, Massey, Clark, Mariano, Wheeldon, Ellis, Finn, Jewitt, Carvell.

Salford squad: Evalds, Johnson, Sau, Meli, Walton, Chase, Fages, Tasi, Morley, Tomkins, Hock, J Walne, Rapira, Puletua, Lee, J Griffin, Ashurst, Caton-Brown, Williams.
