Tipsarevic out in Marseille

Fourth seed Janko Tipsarevic tumbled out of the Open 13 in Marseille as he went down to a second-round defeat by qualifier Dmitry Tursunov.

The Russian broke Tipsarevic twice and saved all four break points he faced to win 7-6 (7/4) 6-2 in a little under one hour 20 minutes.

It was Tursunov's first tour-level win this season.

Second seed Juan Martin del Potro fared better although he was pushed hard in a marathon match against Michael Llodra.

The Argentinian fired down 14 aces and was slightly more consistent as he edged out the Frenchman 6-3 6-7 (4/7) 7-5 in two hours 32 minutes.

Sixth seed Gilles Simon also went through as he eased through with a 6-3 6-1 win against Roberto Bautista-Agut in an hour and eight minutes.

Seventh seed Jerzy Janowicz also went through, his 7-6 (7/0) 6-3 victory wrapped up in an hour and 19 minutes.
