Alain Menu's third pole of the season was enough to secure Chevrolet their third consecutive WTCC Manufacturers title in Japan.
Menu needed just one lap to register a time of 52.885 seconds to claim the top spot, with team-mates Yvan Muller (52.950secs) and Rob Huff (53.885) in second and third respectively.
Chevrolet stole the limelight from Honda Civic on their first appearance in the World Championship, as their racer Tiago Monteiro finished 11th.
Bamboo-engineering Cruze racer Alex MacDowall will line up in fourth place, while Mehdi Bennani was fifth fastest.
