Toronto seal comeback win

Tyler Bozak scored twice as the Toronto Maple Leafs twice came from behind to edge to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins.

Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron twice put the Bruins ahead in the first period only for Toronto to quickly respond through Bozak on both occasions.

A powerplay goal from Jake Gardiner and another strike from James Van Riemsdyk appeared to put the Leafs on course for victory although they had to hold off a late fightback after Gregory Campbell halved the deficit with over 10 minutes to go.

Patrick Marleau scored the only goal in the shootout as the San Jose Sharks squeezed past the Washington Capitals 2-1.

Antti Niemi was key to the Sharks' hopes, however, following up his 35 saves in normal and overtime by keeping out Eric Fehr, Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom in the shootout.

Ovechkin sent the game into overtime after his second period goal cancelled out Tyler Kennedy's seventh-minute opener.

Vincent Lecavalier struck with just 15 seconds remaining to earn the Philadelphia Flyers a thrilling 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Cody Hodgson, Matt D'Agostini and Tyler Ennis struck for Boston, while Jakub Voracek, Brayden Schenn and Scott Hartnell scored for Philadelphia, with the match appearing to be heading towards overtime until Lecavalier netted.

A goal and two assists from Ryan Garbutt propelled the Dallas Stars to a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, which snapped a six-game losing streak.

Erik Cole, Jamie Benn, Cody Eakin and Trevor Daley were also on target for the Stars, who had not previously won since New Year's Eve, while Justin Schultz and Sam Gagner scored for Edmonton.

Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov scored within nine seconds of each other as the Tampa Bay Lightning claimed a 2-1 win over the New York Rangers, who were left stunned having taken the lead through Brad Richards.

TJ Oshie scored twice to lift the St Louis Blues to a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes, who lost their fourth successive game after Oliver Ekman-Larsson's goal proved to be mere consolation.

Strikes from Colin McDonald and Thomas Vanek proved the difference as the Florida Panthers earned a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders, while goals from Jaromir Jagr, Eric Gelinas, Adam Henrique and Dainius Zubrus gave the New Jersey Devils a comfortable 4-1 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens, who took the lead through Max Pacioretty.

Tyson Barrie scored twice, the second in overtime, as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2, the Nashville Predators beat the Calgary Flames 4-2 and the Ottawa Senators eased past the Minnesota Wild 3-0.
