Trainer fined 1,000 at Kempton

Trainer Simon Hodgson was fined 1,000 after the jockey riding his horse Neston Grace weighed in 7lb light at Kempton.

The trainer was punished for failing to put the weight cloth into the saddle of his charge before the Betdaq No Premium Charge Maiden Stakes.

The stewards held an inquiry following an objection from the clerk of the scales after jockey Robert Winston had weighed in 7lb light at 9st 2lb after finishing short-head runner-up on the six-year-old behind Economy.

Neston Grace was disqualified and Earls Quarter promoted to second.
