Tranmere v Swindon preview
Team news for Tuesday's League One clash between Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town at Prenton Park.
Ex-Wales international midfielder Jason Koumas is top of Tranmere's injury concerns prior to the clash with Swindon.
Koumas played through the pain barrier in the loss to Port Vale on Saturday, scoring his fourth goal in his last seven games, but needed half a dozen pain injections in his toe to feature. The quick turnaround is now likely to work against him.
Centre-back Stephen Arthurworrey came off against Vale and is struggling with a lower back injury while fellow defender Danny Holmes, absent on Saturday, will be assessed late on Monday after picking up a knee problem.
The same ailment kept midfielder Steve Jennings out last time around and he faces a similar late test. Stand-in boss John McMahon admits Rovers need to wait for the swelling to subside before making a judgement call.
Swindon will be without two midfield regulars at Tranmere.
Louis Thompson twisted his ankle on Thursday and missed their 1-0 win over Preston on Saturday while Ryan Harley is struggling with a locked hip he sustained in training on Friday and neither will travel to Prenton Park.
Ben Gladwin stepped into the starting line-up after the injuries to Thompson and Harley and look set to keep his place after a man-of-the-match display especially with Alex Pritchard still serving a suspension.
But full-back Nathan Byrne is touch and go to feature having missed the last two games with a hamstring tear as the Robins look to make it back-to-back victories.
