Treve on song for Vermeille
Criquette Head-Maarek is confident Treve has improved since the French Oaks as she prepares her for the Prix Vermeille.
The daughter of Motivator was a devastating winner of the Prix de Diane at Chantilly in early June and the form could hardly have worked out better, with the runner-up Chicquita subsequently landing the Irish Oaks.
The exciting Tasaday was even further back in fourth at Chantilly.
Head-Maarek is hoping Treve can book a place in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with a fourth successive win in the Vermeille next month.
She said: "Everything is fine, she working well.
"The plan is for her to run in the Vermeille on September 15. Frankie Dettori is coming to ride her in a piece of work next Tuesday and that will be her last strong work before she runs at Longchamp.
"She has done very well since her last run. She has grown and physically I think she looks much better than she did on the day of the Prix de Diane.
"The Diane form is so good, it has been upgraded all summer."
Treve will be tackling a mile and a half for the first time in the Prix Vermeille, but Head-Maarek is in no doubt her stamina will last out.
She said: "The mile and a half is the only question mark, but she should stay. Why not?
"It is only 300 yards (further than the Prix de Diane). She'll do it, don't worry."
