Trotta set for short loan spell

Fulham manager Martin Jol is prepared to send Italian striker Marcello Trotta out on loan again in order to get him some first-team football.

The 20-year-old shone during a temporary spell with Wycombe last season, netting eight goals in as many games.

Trotta then went on to spend a frustrating loan at Watford and could now be set for another move away from Craven Cottage.

Summer arrivals have pushed the frontman down the pecking order and Jol is open to a loan move away from west London.

"He's my fourth striker, so for me there's no opportunity to put him on the bench in front of [Mladen] Petric or [Hugo] Rodallega," the Dutchman, who also has Dimitar Berbatov, said.

"There's a couple of clubs interested in him so I'm thinking about putting him on loan for a month and maybe even longer because he needs to play to develop."
