United open against Aberdeen

Dundee United will begin the 2014/15 season with a tough trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen on 9 August.

United finished one place below Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership last season and the two teams could well be battling for a European berth next season.

A midweek home game with Motherwell on 13 August is followed by a trip to Glasgow to take on defending champions Celtic on 16 August.

The first Dundee derby of the campaign comes up on 20 September when Jackie McNamara takes his side to Dens Park, with United then hosting St Johnstone a week later.

December sees United play Celtic at Tannadice on 20, with a trip to McDiarmid Park to face St Johnstone coming up a week later.

The New Year kicks off with the return fixture against Dundee, back in the top-flight after winning the Scottish Championship last season.

Other key fixtures include the second home fixture with St Johnstone on 21 February, with another trip to Celtic Park coming up on 21 March.

Another short trip down Tannadice Street to Dens Park is scheduled for 8 April, with the final day of the regulation season before the split takes effect bringing Hamilton to Tannadice on 11 April.
