Thursday's jumps meeting at Uttoxeter is under threat from waterlogging with an inspection called for 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The Staffordshire track has had to absorb 12.5 millimetres (half an inch) of rain already today following 42.5mm in the previous seven days.
"I'll get the updated weather forecast at 4pm, see what further rain we have had this afternoon, see if any of the water if draining away and see where we stand," said clerk of the course Charlie Moore.
"Racing here this afternoon would be very marginal. The rain has eased, it is windy and we will just have to see."
