Van der Vaart eyes long stay
Rafael van der Vaart is hoping to extend his stay with Hamburg beyond the end of his current contract in the summer of 2015.
The Dutch attacking midfielder moved to the Imtech Arena in 2012, bringing a two-year stay with Tottenham to an end to rejoin the club he had left for Real Madrid in 2005.
Now approaching his 31st birthday in February, the Netherlands international is keen to stay with the German club, who are currently 14th in the Bundesliga.
"I am feeling incredibly at home at Hamburg SV, as well as in the city of Hamburg," Van der Vaart told Sport-Bild weekly.
"I would definitely enjoy staying on for more years. At least from my point of view it would not even be a question of money to agree a longer stay."
