Vea to sit out Saints clash

London Broncos forward Atelea Vea will not get the chance to impress his new employers after being suspended for the visit of St Helens on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Tonga international, who is joining Saints on a two-year contract at the end of the season, submitted an early-guilty plea (EGP) to a grade B charge of striking during the Broncos' 72-12 defeat at Warrington on Sunday and accepted a one-match ban.

Broncos team-mate Olsi Krasniqi will be free to face Nathan Brown's high flyers after avoiding a suspension for striking in the same game. He admitted a minor grade A offence.

Warrington stand-off Chris Bridge similarly admitted a grade A striking offence from the same match and will lose his right to an early-guilty plea for 12 months.

Bridge is available for Friday's derby at Widnes. Vikings prop Phil Joseph will be missing for that match after being given a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle but centre Stefan Marsh is clear to play after pleading guilty to a grade A offence.
