Veteran Gilmour joins Wakefield

Wakefield have announced the signing of former Great Britain international Lee Gilmour on a month's loan from neighbours Castleford.

The Wildcats hope the 36-year-old utility player can help them through an injury crisis.

Gilmour has not featured for the Tigers this season, but boasts a wealth of experience, having made 246 Super League appearances in a career that has also included spells at Wigan, Bradford, St Helens and Huddersfield.

Wakefield coach Richard Agar said: "We're pleased to get Lee in at a time when we've picked up a number of injuries.

"He's a player with a lot of big-game experience and I know he's bursting to play at the moment so will be an asset for us."

Wakefield are currently without Dean Collis, Reece Lyne, Jimmy Keinhorst and Ali Lauitiiti because of injury. On-loan Jacob Fairbank has also returned to parent club Huddersfield after limping out of Sunday's Super League loss to Warrington.
