Vettel targeting fourth title

Sebastian Vettel is refusing to dwell on his Formula One title hat-trick as he bids for a fourth successive crown this season.

With rare stability in the regulations from last year through to the current campaign that starts in Australia on Sunday, Vettel is a hot favourite to make it four in a row for all-conquering Red Bull.

That is despite the fact testing offered few clues as to the pecking order of the frontrunners, with many experts unable to determine who has the edge.

Whether Vettel has the best car, which the 25-year-old has named 'Hungry Heidi', remains to be seen.

Vettel's motivation, however, despite his run of success, is undimmed as he said: "If there is a secret it's not to think about what has happened the last three years.

"The first title was obviously very, very special. After that I don't think you have the pressure any more. You've proved to yourself, more than to anyone, you can do it.

"After that we had another two fantastic years which were very different to one another.

"But as I said, you don't think about what happened last year, or the last three years.

"We are here and we have zero points at the moment, the same as everyone else, so everyone has the same opportunities.

"Also the cars haven't really changed. Last year we saw it was very close, so I don't expect it to be any different this year.

"If anything it is maybe going to be a little tighter, so it will be crucial to make the most out of every single race.

"In terms of motivation, well, it was a long flight, but I'm happy to be here now and very pleased to be starting again."

Vettel added: "Testing this year was probably not as conclusive as previous years.

"So we have arrived here not knowing what is going to happen, which is very exciting."
