Vice-captaincy delights Broad

Stuart Broad has expressed his pride after being named vice-captain for England's tour to India.

The Nottinghamshire paceman led England's doomed defence of their world Twenty20 crown last month, and has been picked as Alastair Cook's right-hand man at Test level.

Broad said on his official Facebook page: "It's always a great honour to pull on an England shirt, but to do so as vice-captain will, of course, be even more special. I'm delighted.

"It's is a long time since England won a Test series in India, so we know it's going to be tough. But it's a challenge we're all looking forward to.

"Our aim is to get back to being the number one side in the world but we know this only comes from doing well in major series like this one."
