Vijay fires Chennai into final

Murali Vijay's century powered Chennai to an 86-run win over the Delhi Daredevils to book their place in their third consecutive IPL final.

Vijay took advantage of a weakened Daredevils attack, after fast bowler Morne Morkel was left out, to race to 113 from 58 balls and help the Super Kings rack up the highest score of the tournament - 222 for five.

Dwayne Bravo (33), Suresh Raina (27) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (23) all chipped in as Delhi's bowlers were taken apart, with Varun Aaron conceding 63 runs in his four overs to record the most expensive figures in IPL history.

In reply, Mahela Jayawardene struck 55 from 38 balls for the Daredevils before he was bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin (three for 23) to leave Dehli rocking on 127 for six.

It was the beginning of a swift capitulation. Venugopal Rao was dismissed without another run added to the total before Dehli lost their last three wickets for just nine runs to be all out for 136.

Ross Taylor was the only other man to make a contribution to the Daredevils' total with a knock of 24, as seven players recorded a single-figure scores in the one-sided match.
