Voyce hoping for Exiles deal

Former Gloucester wing Tom Voyce could be Aviva Premiership newcomers London Welsh's next signing.

Voyce, 31, found himself without a club after being released by the Cherry and Whites at the end of last season.

But the Exiles, who have signed Gavin Henson and Tom Arscott this summer as they prepare for their first season in the top flight, could offer the former England and Wasps star a deal.

"I was finding it hard to believe I had not heard from anyone," Voyce told The Rugby Paper. "Then a meeting was arranged with London Welsh and we had a conversation. Now it is a case of my agent and their representative seeing if there's scope for me to get involved.

"There were preliminary discussions and I am still waiting to hear back. I would definitely go for London Welsh. They have a similar philosophy of play hard, work hard as Wasps used to, so I would understand the mindset they have.

"If you look at the challenges I have faced in my career I have been able to achieve most of them and helping Welsh to stay up is a challenge I would really want to take.

"It would be heartbreaking to see them drop down having fought so hard to get up. I would like to sit down with Lyn Jones and be able to tell him what I can offer the club."
