Wakefield finally land Siejka

Australian half-back Harry Siejka completed his long-awaited switch to Wakefield Wildcats on Wednesday, having agreed a one-year deal back in October.

The 22-year-old was set to be the Wildcats' first signing of the 2014 season before his by the Rugby Football League due to a limited amount of first-grade experience in the NRL.

Seijka made just four senior appearances for Penrith Panthers in 2011-12 before injury prevented his St George Illawarra debut after switching Sydney clubs last term.

However, Wakefield successfully challenged the RFL ruling and the player is thought to have used his Polish ancestry to gain a European passport.

A Wakefield spokesman said: "The Wildcats are pleased to confirm that Harry Siejka has completed his move to the club."

A former Australian schoolboy international, Siejka will be the 11th new signing to join Richard Agar's squad when he arrives in England on Thursday.
