Wales legend to be honoured

Wigan and Wales legend Billy Boston has been recognised among the world's greatest black sportsmen.

The prolific winger is in seventh place in the Sporting Equals' top 10 greatest athletes announced to mark Black History Month.

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali tops the list, followed by Jesse Owens and Pele. British double Olympic decathlon champion Daley Thompson is the leading Briton in fourth place.

Boston, who will be honoured at Saturday's Test match between Wales and England at Wrexham, became one of the greatest try scorers in rugby league history from 1953-68 and won 31 caps for Great Britain.

He has been inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame and is one of five players to be remembered in a group statue outside Wembley Stadium.
