Walker sets sights on Olympics
Tottenham defender Kyle Walker is confident he will recover from injury in time to be fit for the Olympics.
The England right-back's Euro 2012 dreams were dashed by a toe problem which is set to keep him sidelined for another four weeks.
Walker is hoping to make up for that heartache by playing for Team GB at the London Olympics.
"Of course I am disappointed not to be going to the European Championships," he told the Daily Star.
"I am in contention to be in the (Olympic) squad and would love to represent my country. I was told my recovery would take four weeks and hopefully I will be back running soon."
As well as missing out on Euro 2012, Walker suffered a further blow when Chelsea's Champions League victory stopped Tottenham from qualifying for Europe's top competition.
"The fans are always going to feel down, we do as well," he added.
