Ward: We'd lost our sharpness
Bristol Rovers manager John Ward says tiredness played a part in his side's 2-1 loss to Dagenham.
A goal in each half from striker Adebayo Azeez halted Rovers' recent revival after the hosts had gone ahead through John-Joe O'Toole's 15th goal of the season.
And Ward believes it was a game too far for his Pirates after their impressive 2-1 win over Plymouth last weekend.
Ward said: "It was After the Lord Mayor's Show for us following a really good display on Saturday.
"We had gone six games unbeaten before this and couldn't quite extend that. Too many players were below par.
"Perhaps there was an element of tiredness. We were not as sharp as we have been in recent games so we cannot have any complaints.
"I tried to freshen things up with some substitutions, but it didn't work out for us.
"We have picked ourselves up from setbacks before and I have no doubt the players will do so again because they are a strong group."
