Warner stars for Sunrisers
Sunrisers Hyderabad boosted their hopes of clinching the final place in the IPL play-offs with a six-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings.
Australian batsman David Warner smashed 90 from 45 balls as the Sunrisers chased down a target of 186 with two balls to spare.
Shikar Dhawan hit 64 not out after supporting Warner in an opening stand of 110 which helped Hyderabad clinch a win which leaves them two points behind fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals having played a game more.
Chennai had earlier set a total of 185-3 after being put in to bat, David Hussey and MS Dhoni turning the innings around with an unbeaten stand of 108.
Things looked bleaker in the ninth over when the Super Kings were reduced to 77-3, Karn Sharma dismissing both Dwayne Smith (47) and Suresh Raina (4) as well as deflecting the ball onto the stumps for Faf du Plessis' (19) run out.
But Hussey (50 not out) and Dhoni (57no) combined for six sixes and seven fours as the blasted their way towards a big total.
But Warner was aggressive from the start of the chase, completely dominating the opening stand with Dhawan until he was bowled by John Hastings 10 runs short of a century.
Dhawan continued the good work after the explosive left-hander's departure and the Sunrisers managed to complete the win in the final over.
