Warwick option for Run

Baby Run could run at either Warwick or Haydock next following his gallant effort in defeat from a lengthy lay-off at Aintree on Saturday.

The 13-year-old belied his age and 959-day absence with a bold front-running performance that almost repaid reward in the Betfred Becher Chase as he went down by only a length after a renewed challenge to Chance Du Roy.

Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies will now consider the Betfred Classic Chase at Warwick on January 14 and the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock a week later as the next race for his gallant veteran, who had been off with a slight leg problem since April 2011 when he won the Fox Hunters' Chase at Aintree and finished third in the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.

"He ran a great race. We very much expected a big run from him. He did everything bar win, it was a great shame, but there you go," said the Naunton handler.

"He's fine this morning - 100 per cent. He won't run for a bit. We'll find something for him in the New Year I expect.

"We'll look at the Warwick long-distance chase and we'll also look at one of those type of races at Haydock, the Peter Marsh."
