Waterlogging claims Plumpton

Plumpton's fixture on Monday has been abandoned due to waterlogging but racing goes ahead at Catterick and Wolverhampton.

The racecourse executive had intended to inspect the track at 7.30am, but saw no reason in delaying the inevitable, with 12mm of rain having already fallen on top of saturated ground and further precipitation still arriving.

Clerk of the Course Mark Cornford said "We have had 12mm of rain overnight which was more than expected and the course is currently waterlogged and unraceable, with more rain forecast during the morning."

Plumpton's next scheduled raceday is in a fortnight's time on Monday February 24.
