Weir expecting Blades response
Sheffield United boss David Weir is expecting to discover more about his players following their weekend defeat at Brentford.
Weir tasted league defeat for the first time as manager in the Blades' second game of the season, but remains confident his side will quickly bounce back.
"You always learn more about yourself and your team after a defeat because now it is about the response we get from the lads during the next week ahead of Colchester," Weir said after Brentford overcame his side 3-1 at Griffin Park.
"This is our first challenge in terms of bouncing back from a league defeat, but I'm sure the lads will react in a positive manner, it is down to the management staff, including myself, to make sure that is the case and I'm sure it will be."
Defender Neill Collins, who headed the Blades' second-half equaliser, was also in philosophical mood afterwards.
"If we had stayed in the game for a bit long after the equaliser, I'm sure we could have kicked on and taken something from the game," he said.
"To give Brentford credit, they seized the advantage after scoring their second, but I'm sure we will bounce back."
