Warwickshire and England all-rounder Chris Woakes is to spend the winter in New Zealand after signing a deal with the Wellington Firebirds.
The 23-year-old, who has been capped by England in one-day cricket, is scheduled to play three first-class matches for the club, as well as eight Twenty20 matches.
"Joining Wellington is a great opportunity for me," he said.
"I'm looking forward to joining up with the rest of the squad."
Woakes will no doubt be hoping that good form with the Firebirds could see him drafted in by England when they tour New Zealand early next year.
