Wells thankful to Bradford
Huddersfield's new record signing Nahki Wells has thanked former club Bradford for not standing in the way of his move.
The 23-year-old striker completed a £1.3million switch from Valley Parade to the John Smith's Stadium last week and said his transfer was the right move for all three parties.
"Bradford will always play a part in my heart," said Wells, who fired a last-minute winner for new club Huddersfield in their weekend win against Millwall.
"I like to hope that the Bradford fans look at the positives of it. They have made a large amount of money off nothing and I have got my opportunity.
"They didn't stand in my way and I thank them for that because they could easily have stuck me in and made me play.
"But they saw I was very ambitious and I wanted this move and really deep in my heart said this was the right club to come to - somewhere I could improve as a player and learn.
"If you want to keep learning then you will get better."
Wells who joined Bradford in June 2011 following his release by Carlisle, scored 53 goals in a total of 112 appearances for the club.
