West Ham v Wigan preview

Team news for Tuesday night's Capital One Cup third-round clash between West Ham and Wigan at Upton Park.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has no fresh injury concerns.

The Hammers are still without on-loan Liverpool striker Andy Carroll (hamstring) although he has started to train, while the only other absentee is Jack Collison (knee).

Yossi Benayoun could be in line to make his first start since returning to the club on loan from Chelsea and Allardyce has hinted striker Modibo Maiga will also be named in his starting XI.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is likely to give some of his younger players the chance to impress.

Latics lost 2-1 at home to Fulham on Saturday but substitutes Callum McManaman and Ryo Miyaichi performed well and could be handed starts at Upton Park.

The likes of David Jones, Ben Watson, Albert Crusat, Fraser Fyvie and Mauro Boselli may also be included while defender Antolin Alcaraz could return from a groin injury.
