Wet weather claims three games

Bristol City v Watford, Leyton Orient v Swindon and AFC Wimbledon v Northampton were all postponed on Boxing Day due to waterlogged pitches.

In the Championship clash at Ashton Gate, referee Michael Naylor initially delayed the kick-off and inspected the pitch at 3.10pm before deciding the game could not go ahead.

Bristol City said on their Twitter feed: "Today's match is OFF. Too much rain, water on the pitch proved impossible to shift."

Earlier the League Two match between AFC Wimbledon and Northampton in League Two fell victim to the weather, while Leyton Orient v Swindon in League One was called off on Tuesday.

No new dates have been arranged for the fixtures.
