Whitlock beaten on opening night
There was a shock on the opening night of the World Grand Prix in Dublin with fifth seed Simon Whitlock crashing out.
The former World Championship finalist, in good form after his recent victory in the European Championship, went down 2-1 to England's Justin Pipe.
The Wizard could not find his 'A' game in Dublin and duly made his exit.
There was a good win for Mervyn King, who beat Terry Jenkins 2-1.
Other early winners, included Robert Thornton, who edged out Mark Walsh, and Dave Chisnall, a 2-1 winner over fellow Englishman Dean Winstanley.
