Whitlock leads GB contingent
Double Olympic medallist Max Whitlock heads up a strong-looking British men's team for the forthcoming artistic World Championships in Antwerp.
Whitlock - in fine form in 2013 with all-round English and British titles - is joined by fellow Olympic winners Daniel Purvis, Sam Oldham and Kristian Thomas.
Dan Keatings and Ashley Watson are the others selected.
Ruby Harrold, the 2013 European all-round finalist, is in the women's squad, along with Rebecca Downie and London Olympics pair Hannah Whelan and Rebecca Tunney.
"An individual World Championships gives an indication as to the progress of gymnasts from the top nations and the improvements made in the new cycle,'' men's coach Eddie van Hoof said.
"For the British boys it gives a chance to show upgraded routines and the opportunity for individual gymnasts to shine.''
Women's coach Amanda Reddin added: "As these are the first World Championships of the new Olympic cycle it gives all nations the chance to assess the current situation and see what will be required going forward.''
The championships run between September 30 and October 6 in Antwerp.
