Wilson excited by strike duo

Barnsley boss Danny Wilson believes Chris O'Grady and Nick Proschwitz are developing a potent strike partnership.

German forward Proschwitz fired a double in the 2-2 weekend Championship draw at relegation rivals Doncaster to take his tally to three in four appearances for the Reds since joining from Hull last month on loan until the end of the season.

O'Grady, signed in the summer from Sheffield Wednesday after spending the second half of last season on loan at Oakwell, has scored 11 goals this season and it was his cut-back which set up Proschwitz's late equaliser at Doncaster.

"We have two very good strikers in Chris and Nick and games like this will help build their level of confidence in playing with each other," Wilson said after the game.

Wilson, whose second-bottom side are still five points adrift of safety, was disappointed with some of his side's defending, but feels their comeback stands them in good stead for their busy forthcoming schedule, which sees them play Wigan, plus two more relegation rivals in Millwall and Charlton in the space of eight days.

"I think we should have done better with both the goals Doncaster scored," Wilson added.

"That said we came back from the set back of the goal very strong, which is pleasing from my point of view.

"The way we finished the game and how strongly we finished will set us up well for the next games coming up."
