Wilson fury at postponement
Barnsley boss Danny Wilson has expressed his disappointment at the late postponement of Saturday's league game at Charlton.
Wilson returned for a second spell as manager at Oakwell last month and was hoping to register his first win in six games since replacing David Flitcroft, but a late pitch inspection at The Valley left him frustrated.
"It's cost the fans a lot of money to come all the way down without any warning that it might be off," Wilson told the club's official website.
"When it does happen like that it's difficult to take. From our point of view, there's nothing we could have done.
"We had no prior warning. I only heard there would be an inspection at 11.35am (on Saturday) morning.
"We expected it to go ahead because they've had a dome on to protect the pitch from the weather over the last 10 days so we thought it would be much better. But, when we got on it, it was far from that.
"It's the correct decision. The referee's got a concern about the players' safety, which is paramount in anybody's eyes.
"We're just frustrated that we haven't had any prior warning to it, otherwise we maybe could have come down and looked at it at teatime on Friday.
"The lads were really ready for it and wanting to play and unfortunately that frustration is there."
