Wilson looks to 'kick-on'

Manchester United starlet James Wilson has admitted he needs to 'kick-on' after making a dream debut for the club.

The 18-year-old striker bagged a brace against Hull City after being named in the starting XI by Ryan Giggs.

Now the England Under-19 international is looking to become a regular first-team member at Old Trafford.

"I feel like I can deal with the physicality and pace of the game. I just need to try to get as many games as possible under my belt for the experience," he said.

"If you're getting on in the club, you have to be progressing so obviously scoring for every age group is a good sign. I've got where I am now but I have to kick on."

Wilson admits his debut was a dream come true adding: "It was a great feeling and you can't compare it to anything else.

"The first goal was just sheer euphoria and then the second was a great experience.

"The ground is a lot different without 75,000 people, but just to play here even in front of a small crowd for the U21s is still a great experience. With all the fans here against Hull it was even better."

Wilson played alongside Robin van Persie, who was full of praise for his young team-mate.

"James played really well. I know how hard it is to make your debut - I made mine when I was about 29!" he said.

"I know how special it can be. He made it very special for himself and for everyone else. To score two goals is really special."
