Windies hold off South Africa
The West Indies survived a late fightback from South Africa to secure a two-wicket victory at the ICC Women's World Cup.
The Windies seemed well course to chasing down South Africa's score of 230-7 as Kycia Knight (46) and Stafanie Taylor (75) shared a century stand for the second wicket.
However Dane van Niekerk (3-47) removed both to South Africa hope, while Marizanne Kapp, Sunette Loubser, Susan Benade and Shabnim Ismail all chipped in with wickets.
Shemaine Campbelle's timely 33, though, helped to see the Windies to victory with 4.3 overs in hand.
South Africa will have felt they should have set a more demanding target, with a number of players getting starts but failing kick on.
Trisha Chetty (45), Cri-zelda Brits (44), van Niekerk (33) and Mignon du Preez (31) all fell when well set - with Tremayne Smartt (2-43) the pick of the bowlers.
